Ubuntu - an African word meaning human kindness and compassion.

Founded in 2014, Ubuntu Yoga Center has established itself as a studio where we focus on an atmosphere of mindfulness, inner peace, compassion and self-love, in order to achieve balance and harmony in the body.

About Yoga

Yoga can be understood as a set of behaviors  that develops a holistic experience of the body, heart and mind.  The goal of a yoga sequence is to create a physical effect, an emotional effect and a spiritual effect.


Some of the benefits of yoga include -  reducing  stress, improving posture, circulation and digestion, while keeping our joints fluid and our muscles toned.

Yoga increases flexibility, and range of motion, but its real work is to create a deeper sense of centeredness and ease within.

About Gail

Born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa. Gail has made Pierre, SD her home since 2004.

Health and wellness has always played a major role in her life. Her passion for body movement started at the age of 5, with Ballet. 

From Ballet she moved on to Modern Jazz until Yoga found her in 2001.


"I love what Yoga has to offer - it is more than asana (posture) - it is the connection you make with your breath, your body and your mind. It takes you into a journey of self-discovery."  


Gail completed her basic 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training with Organic Yoga Co. of Sioux Falls, SD in 2013.

She then went on to obtain her certification in Prenatal Yoga, followed by adding an additional 300-hour training to complete her 500-hour certification, with Evolve to Harmony Yoga School of Omaha, NE in 2016.

She is registered with Yoga Alliance.
